  • Trans Musicales has announced its program for 2010, with a diverse cast of electronic, pop and indie acts booked over three nights at the Parc Expo in Rennes, France. Now in its 32nd year, Trans Musicales is a weekend long event that prides itself on its ability to spot the "next big thing," having hosted early performances by the likes of Björk, Massive Attack, Daft Punk and Underground Resistance. Since its first editions, the festival's philosophy has been to look past current trends and help support emerging styles. As such, most of the acts on this year's bill defy simple categorization, such as Matthew Dear, Gonjasufi and Finnish tube organ outfit Shogun Kunitoki. Salem will be on hand, The Gaslamp Killer will deliver one of his fiercely eclectic DJ sets and A-Trak will lighten things up with his virtuosic mash-up skills. Big name headliners include M.I.A., Fake Blood and dubstep collective Magnetic Man. The event occurs primarily at the Parc Expo conference center, with side events taking place at bars and clubs around the city.
