  • Down_under will mark its second birthday this month with a pair of parties in Belgium and the UK. With its home base in subterranean club space Silo, down_under has become a staple of Leuven nightlife over the past two years, establishing a strong preference for German house and tech house with guests like Matthias Tanzmann, Federico Molinari and Mathias Kaden. Taking down_under abroad for the first time last month, residents Jitter and Dezz Terquez made their UK debut at popular London spot City Arts & Music Project (CAMP), The with Luna City Express as their special guests. The first of this weekend's birthday celebrations will return to CAMP, with Desolat's first lady tINI in tow. Since signing to Loco Dice's Artist Alive and Desolat labels in 2008, tINI's profile has risen considerably, aided by her deep-rolling percussive sound and her regular spot at Desolat label nights at Cocoon and Amnesia. She will be joined in the booth on Friday by Brazilian artist Cleber Malheiro. The party carries on the following night back in the familiar surrounds of Silo, with Nick Curly and Kevin Griffiths at the helm. Both artists are equally as known for their A&R skills, heading up two of the most highly-charted labels of this year, Cecille and Tsuba respectively. Curly's set should include plenty of Cecille favourites, such as this year's Butch hit "No Worries", while Griffiths' set will also feature lashings of loop-driven, bouncy house, like his own popular production "Oh Yeah" from earlier this year. Last minute tickets for down_under's Second Birthday with tINI are available here from RA Tickets.
