  • UK bass duo Mount Kimbie will be making their Australian debut next year, stopping into March's Golden Plains festival alongside Jamie Lidell. Over the past two years, Mount Kimbie have become one of bass music's most lauded acts. A partnership with Scuba's Hotflush Recordings imprint has seen the duo release several well-received records in the past year-and-a-half, beginning with their debut Sketch on Glass EP in early 2009. Their profile rose steadily in the following months, thanks to the acclaimed Maybes EP and their debut album, Crooks and Lovers. The other sole electronic representative at Golden Plains will be English vocalist and producer Jamie Lidell, who's by no means a stranger to Australian crowds. Lidell is known for his flamboyant live act, which often involves live sampling and sequencing of his own voice as well as a multitude of costume changes. Next year's festival will go down in mid March, with an array of indie and acoustic names forming the bulk of the lineup. So far, no other Australian dates for Mount Kimbie or Lidell have been announced.
