Derrick Carter celebrates his Fabric mix in Miami

- The house icon gets ready for a Thursday night party at The Shelborne during WMC week.
- Chicago's Derrick Carter will headline a party at The Shelborne on the Thursday night of this year's Miami Winter Music Conference. Carter has been a presence in his native Chicago's house music scene for more than two decades. He first started releasing music in the late '80's, and since then he's developed a reputation for his trademark style of "boompty" house, not just in the Windy City but around the world. Recently, he announced plans to relaunch his Classic Music imprint with co-founder Luke Solomon, but the primary reason to party at the Shelborne will be Carter's Fabric 56 mix, which will hit stores the week of the conference.
