Chicago's DJ Rashad will join the UK producer for a night of juke/footwork/ghetto house at Berlin club Horst.
Despite its influence creeping into the sounds of European producers, the Chicago juke/footwork sound has yet to enjoy much of a presence outside of a few isolated parties and DJ appearances in London clubs. In a broad sense, much of the music is tailored to the footworking battles of the Windy City, of course, although tracks such as Addison Groove's "Footcrab" have helped open peoples' ears to the sound by lowering the music's tempo and injecting a few more polished production flourishes.
Addison Groove will be joined on the night by a Chicago institution in the form of DJ Rashad. Through his release on Planet Mu and mix for FACT alongside long-term friend and collaborator DJ Spinn, Rashad has been one of the key names to make an international impact with the sound, although his involvement in the Chicago scene goes back over a decade and includes multiple releases for labels like Juke Trax, Dancemania and Ghettophiles.
Lazer Sword's Lando Kal is among the other billed acts for the night, while support will be provided by Leisure System's N>E>D and Area Boy.
