- The 900MB sample pack has been released under the name Experimental Drum & Bass.
James Clements, AKA ASC, has released an edition of Loopmasters' Artist series.
The UK-born producer has risen to prominence over these past 12 months as a chief proponent of the Autonomic sound, although Clements has in fact been releasing music since the late '90s. Instra:mental's Nonplus+ put out his album Nothing Is Certain last year to widespread acclaim, while his RA podcast and subsequent mixes for sites like mnml ssgs have spread his message far beyond the realm of drum & bass.
Experimental Drum & Bass is a 900MB offering that packs in a total of 430 samples. There are 234 24-bit loops at 170 BPM in addition to 196 one-shots and samples. The release also includes 60 "ready to play" patches for popular samplers such as Halion, Kontakt, EXS, SFZ and Reason NNXT Soft Samplers. Clements has a real knack for composing delicate pads and atmospherics (see Symbol #1 on his own Auxiliary imprint for a recent example) so expect this to shine through on
Experimental Drum & Bass.
