European distributor Wordandsound has released a three-part compilation to raise money for beleaguered Japan, entitled Japanease.

The mammoth digital package, which features well over 100 tracks, was initiated by Wordandsound in cooperation with a cluster of labels. All profits will be donated to the disaster-ravaged Sendai/Miyagi area, via the German Japanese Association in Hamburg. The tracklist is indicative of the sheer volume of support still emanating from the electronic music community, with all producers involved offering their work free of charge. Many will also present music exclusively for this release, including Technasia, Tevo Howard, Nathan Fake, Lawrence (as Sten), Basic Soul Unit and Terence Fixmer. While many artists who appear in the tracklist hail from Germany, the compilation is also a statement of the global support for Japan, with tracks from artists like Britain's Layo & Bushwacka or New York's Wolf + Lamb.
