  • Beacons Festival will take place between the 11th and 14th August in Skipton, Yorkshire. Moor Music Festival have teamed up with Northern promoters Iron Wagon and 580 collective to deliver this latest edition to Britain's bustling summer calendar. Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Beacons will host four days of music from a mixture of bands and electronic artists, backed by a wealth of art, film and various extras including clothing stalls, fresh food and drink vendors. Wonky hip-hop artist Dels and Filthy Dukes—the outfit behind fabric's resident electro clash night Kill Em All—kick off the affair on Thursday with Jamie Woon, Ghostpoet and Mount Kimbie lending their variants of thoughtful bass to Friday's bill. Alongside eclectic offerings from Mr Scruff and Glaswegian duo Optimo, mash-up man Toddla T and Night Slugs member Girl Unit will usher in the party vibes. Elsewhere bass tastes will be met by Hessle head Pearson Sound, R&S youngster Pariah and Fantastic Mr Fox. Modern Love's dark duo Demdike Stare bring their brand of brooding experimental techno, alongside acid Warp flavours from Lone. A raft of live acts traversing indie, folk, pop, jazz and everything in between complete the program, littered with several electro-pop acts such as Tom Vek, who recently returned with his long-awaited second album Leisure Seizure.
