  • Rinse FM will celebrate their seventeenth anniversary at Brixton Academy on Saturday, October 8th. The ex-pirate station, which only went legal on 106.8FM last year, has been a part UK's underground scene since 1994, providing a highly influential platform for everything from garage, jungle and drum & bass to grime, dubstep and funky. The party in Brixton next month will span three rooms with a combination of old and new artists, many of whom were first given a platform on Rinse. Dubstep pioneer Skream leads the pack, performing with vocalist Sam Frank. He'll be joined by Coki of Digital Mystikz, grime collectives Roll Deep and Newham Generals, grime MC P. Money and garage-cum-R&B singer-songwriter Ms Dynamite. DJ EZ and Horsepower Productions are also on the bill, together with Oneman and Jackmaster, who have been pivotal in expanding the boundaries of the scene in recent times. Others on the bill include Bok Bok of Night Slugs, Bristol's Redlight and Rinse resident Youngsta, as well as Eglo records head Floating Points.
