  • The Red Bull Music Academy will take over the London Eye on October 13th for an event called Revolutions in Sound. The night marks the final stop on Red Bull Music Academy's international tour. London, which was the RBMA's host city in 2010, is now home to what is being billed as the world’s "first festival in the sky," with the thirty compartments of the Thames-side landmark showcasing producers, DJs and live acts. The ferris-wheel, which lies adjacent to Westminster Bridge, will present homegrown artists both old and new, and capture different aspects of electronic music side-by-side (or pod-by-pod). Participating artists include Andrew Weatherall, Shy FX's Digital Soundboy Soundsytem and disco duo The 2 Bears, AKA Joe Goddard of Hot Chip and Greco Roman Sound System's Raf Daddy. Hessle Audio trio Pearson Sound, Ben UFO and Pangaea will set up shop in FabricLive's capsule. Hosts include dub veteran David Rodigan, Night Slugs boys L-Vis 1990 and Bok Bok, and Goldie with his drum & bass imprint Metalheadz, as well as dubsteppers Skream and Benga. RBMA alumni like Space Dimension Controller also feature. There will also be a silent disco at the base of The Eye where guests can listen to feeds from each capsule as well as performances on the South Bank via headphones. The event is open to competition winners only. You can submit an application for free tickets here from 10:00 AM this morning, Thursday September 22nd. The night will also be aired online as it happens on the day.
