The Chicago and Detroit inspired imprint launches today with an EP from Deep Space Orchestra.
Unlike its more bass-inclined parent label, Secret Weapons will emphasise the sounds of Chicago house, Sheffield bleep and Detroit techno, with releases from both current and classic artists. The first EP, Hold Me Back, is by Deep Space Orchestra, a UK deep house duo with past releases on Delusions of Grandeur and Quintessentials. According to label owner Mark Potts, future releases will come from Austrian producer Roman Rauch and Chicago veteran Carl Bias, a former member of the early house ensemble Master C & J. The label is distributed by Clone and is a strictly vinyl-only operation.
