Early next year, Gonjasufi will release a new mini-album on Warp called MU.ZZ.LE.
The album will be Gonjasufi's first substantial body of work since his debut album, A Sufi and a Killer, which came out on Warp at the beginning of last year. Since then, the gravelly-voiced beatsmith has been busy playing shows around the world, an experience that apparently gave him food for thought. MU.ZZ.LE was written on the road and produced at Gonjasufi's studio in the middle of the Mojave desert. According to the label, it's just as spiritually and politically charged as its predecessor. "MU.ZZ.LE was more like knowing that what comes out of the mouth of man, sets man free and defiles him, it was me guarding my words and my tongue," says Gonjasufi. "These words are less but I feel like I'm saying more."
