  • Sonar have begun announcing details for two of their spring events: SonarSound in Tokyo, and the first edition of Sonar São Paulo. Now in its fifth year running, SonarSound 2012 will take place on April 21st and 22nd at the event's usual venue, ageHa. Artists confirmed so far include The Cinematic Orchestra, Mount Kimbie, Warp Records artist Clark and Tokyo-based artist Masaaki Yoshida, AKA Anchorsong. More than 30 local and international artists will be booked in total. Sonar São Paulo will happen a month later at Parque Anhembi, a massive convention center that's home to the city's annual Carnival. The initial lineup already features a number of big name acts, such as as Björk, Justice, James Blake and Little Dragon. More esoteric artists are confirmed as well, from Four Tet and Modeselektor to Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto. As with SonarSound, a collection of local artists will perform as well. Both events will be preceded by A Taste of Sonar, taking place once again at The Roundhouse in London. More details on that one in the months ahead.
