  • Made Event have announced that they will not be throwing their iconic Sunday School events in Miami this March. The New York promoter released a statement today saying this: "We've been very fortunate to be able to support many amazing artists over the last 6 years at Sunday School in Miami. From the first few years at Pawn Shop, the 24-hour party morphed into a global techno mecca at Ice Palace for our 36-hour marathons. However, we won't be hosting Sunday School in Miami this year as we continue to focus our efforts on the Electric Zoo Festival in New York." Made Event handles some of the East Coast's biggest electronic music events, most notably Electric Zoo in Manhattan. Their Sunday School parties (formerly known as Sunday School for Degenerates) always worked as a kind of closing ceremony for what is informally known as Miami music week. The party originally took place at The Pawn Shop, then moved to massive film production studio in downtown Miami called The Ice Palace. In 2011, Sunday School expanded from one day to three, beginning on Friday with a Minus showcase (another Made Event staple of Miami music week) and finishing on Sunday night, hosting DJ sets and live performances on any many as three stages simultaneously throughout the weekend. No word on whether Sunday School will ever return to Miami, but it will at least live on in the form of a stage at Electric Zoo, which takes place over labor day weekend. Details on the lineup won't be out for months, but you can submit suggestions now through Made Event's Facebook page.
