  • Crosstown Rebels will present two Rebel Raves in Australia this March, one at The Bottom End in Melbourne, the other on their own stage at Playground Weekender in Sydney. 2011 was a big one for Crosstown Rebels, with popular releases from Maceo Plex, Deniz Kurtel and Art Department landing them in the top spot on RA's Top 20 labels of the year. The Rebel Raves in Australia will feature label boss Damian Lazarus along with Art Department and newcomer Amirali, whose debut EP Beautiful World is due out on the label this month. Also confirmed is Sydney's DJ Brohn, who Lazarus hand-picked for both shows. Englishman Lee Burridge will join both bills as a special guest. The Melbourne party and Sydney's festival appearance will happen on the 2nd and 3rd of March respectively. Local promoters The Likes Of You will be hosting the Melbourne gig, which will run from 10:00 PM until 9:00 AM, at The Bottom End. The following day, the crew will be performing in the Pulse Radio Big Top as part of Playground Weekender 2012. The festival is held over three days at at Del Rio Riverside Resort north of Sydney, with the Rebel Rave being held on day two, and boasts a lineup that also features Chic & Nile Rodgers, Greg Wilson, Hudson Mohawke, UNKLE and LTJ Bukem.
