  • Strahil Velchev, AKA KiNK, is booked to play two live shows in Australia over Easter weekend. Having been making music for over a decade, the Bulgarian producer has seen global success in the past few years with releases on labels like Ovum, Kolour Recordings and liebe*detail, and has kept up a busy touring schedule. The past 12 months have been particularly fruitful for Velchev, scoring himself a spot in RA's Top 20 live acts of 2011 poll, and continuing his partnership with regular studio mate Neville Watson, with the release of their fourth 12-inch on the Rush Hour sub-label Hour House Is Your Rush. As much a live performer as a studio artist, he earned his spot on the poll through touring in more than 15 countries, including sets at Unsound, Garden Festival and Trouble Vision's 3rd birthday. Despite all this globe-trotting, the upcoming trip will be Velchev's first to Australia. Melbourne is first up on April 7th, where he will play a Chameleon party at Lucky Coq alongside locals Jamie Stevens, Steve Ward and Anri. The following evening up in Sydney will be held at The Spice Cellar, co-promoted by Picnic and Reckless Republic. Also on the bill are Matt Trousdale, Kali & Mike Witcombe, and Murat Kilic. Tickets to the Sydney show are available here on RA.
