  • Donna Summer has died at the age of 63 after a battle with cancer. TMZ is reporting the death, stating that the American singer was in Florida at the time of her death. Not much information is available about the situation as of yet, though a source apparently close to Summer said "she didn't seem too bad" just a few weeks ago. Summer was popularly known as "the Queen of disco," one of the most important and influential figures early on in the genre, working with pioneer Giorgio Moroder on sizable chart hits such as "Love to Love You Baby," "I Feel Love" and "Bad Girls." Her hits and her work continued long after her relationship with Moroder ended, producing songs like "She Works Hard for the Money." Summer was apparently hard at work on a new album before her untimely death. To read more about Donna Summer, click here for RA's Alfred Soto piece about her extraordinary career.
