- The collection will come out on Domino sub-label Ribbon Music.
John Maus will release A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material on July 16th.
The Minnesota singer and songwriter is known for his prolific rate of production, with a number of demos and unreleased tracks released last year for free online. He's put out three properly released albums by now, most notably last year's We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves. The new compilation consists of 16 tracks recorded over the last 11 years. Most of them are previously unreleased, five came out on various compilations, and the rest were shared by Maus online as part of a package called Demos 2011 through his website MausSpace. The material has been remixed and remastered expressly for the new compilation. Artwork comes from Wolfgang Tillmans.
