Function touches down in Vancouver

- The Sandwell District man will play the city's Open Studios later this month.
- Function will headline a show at Open Studios in Vancouver on June 23rd. The Berlin-based, New York-raised DJ and producer doesn't spend much time north of the US border, but June will see him land in Vancouver for a rare Canadian date in between engagements in Chicago on the 22nd, New York City's Deep Space night on June 25th, and San Francisco on the 29th. The artist born Dave Sumner has released on labels like Synewave, CLR, and Ibadan over the course of his 15-year-plus career, although he's perhaps most recognized for founding the Sandwell District imprint alongside the UK's Regis, known for its brand of dark, tunnelling techno. The night will be presented by Vancouver's techno collective Subversive, and will feature DJ support from Subversive's Austin Phillips as well as local duo MITIM.
