- FAC. DANCE 02 delves further into the post-punk institution's groovier side with tracks from ESG, A Certain Ratio and more.
This September, Strut will release another round of club tracks from legendary Manchester label Factory Records, entitled FAC. DANCE 02.
As the home of '70s and '80s post-punk groups like Joy Division, The Durutti Column and Cabaret Voltaire, Factory always had a lofty, art-house feel about it. But dance music was a big part of Factory too: it opened the Hacienda, after all, in conjunction with its flagship band New Order. Arriving one year after the first FAC. DANCE, Strut's new compilation continues to mine this side of the seminal imprint's catalog. Hard copies of the release (on CD and LP) come with track notes by James Nice, author of Shadowplayers: The Rise and Fall of Factory Records, while the digital version features five bonus tracks.
