John Digweed, Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu and many others will play the Romanian festival later this month.
The festival had been taking place twice annually—May and August—in Mamaia since 2007, until last year's August edition of Sunwaves was moved 5km up the road to Navodari. This will again be the spot for the next edition of Sunwaves on August 18th, a single night (and some of the next day) affair that will spread itself across several seaside tents and stages. As is always the case with Sunwaves, a strong contingent of Romanian DJs will be showing their wares. Two of the country's most famed electronic music exports, Rhadoo and Petre Inspirescu are the most obvious examples, although names like Praslea, Kozo, Cezar and Priku have been showing up with increasing frequency on international bills.
Richie Hawtin and John Digweed are two of the night's main international guests. Terry Lee Brown Jr. and The Timewriter will represent veteran German imprint Plastic City, while Fumiya Tanaka, Phil Weeks, Hobo, Cabanne and jozif represent a flavour of the other internationals on offer.
Tickets to Sunwaves 12 are available to purchase via RA Tickets.
