  • San Francisco party crew Icee Hot is ready to launch a new label in September, beginning with an EP from co-founder Ryan Merry, AKA Ghosts on Tape. Icee Hot is a joint effort from Merry, Lazer Sword member Low Limit, Rollie Fingers and XLR8R editor Shawn Reynaldo. They've been putting on parties in the Bay Area for years, booking house, techno and bass artists (Omar-S, Jackmaster, Ben UFO, Juan Atkins and Levon Vincent to name a few) in intimate spaces with a no-frills atmosphere. The label will follow the same open-ended music policy. The first release from Ghosts on Tape is called Nature's Law, and features remixes from Underground Quality boss Jus-Ed and landokal" data-artist-news-link="true">Lando Kal, the other half of Lazer Sword, who's got his own Icee Hot EP in the works.
