Entitled By Your Side, the French electronic pop artist's first full-length is due out in September.
Thibaut Berland, better known as Breakbot, will release his first artist album in September.
By Your Side will continue Berland's run of releases on Ed Banger Records, the well-known Parisian label that's also home to Justice, SebAstian and the late DJ Mehdi. Though he generally fits the Ed Banger mold, Berland takes a less banging approach than most of his label-mates, opting instead for a silky, pop-inspired sound that reflects his biggest influences: Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Phil Collins among others. This continues on his debut LP.
"I guess you could say my album is more a pop album than a Berlin techno record with water drop sounds in it," he says. "I wanted to make a pop journey that would have all my influences, without being a reference catalog."
By Your Side features mostly new tracks, plus selections from Beland's recent singles, Fantasy and One Out Of Two. You can hear a bit of the latter track in the teaser trailer below.
