- Due out on Monday, the Belgian techno artist's new LP shows him going deeper than ever before.
Belgian techno artist Peter Van Hoesen will release a new album on Monday called Perceiver.
Arriving two years after his last LP, Entropic City, Perceiver shows Van Hoesen's atmospheric style of techno continuing to evolve. While much of the album is certainly club friendly, it explores sound design more thoroughly than his previous records. "The emphasis of my work seems to go more and more in the direction of research," he says in a press release. "Sometimes it does not feel as if I am creating new music, but methodically uncovering something which already exists but has not yet been found."
Perceiver was recorded entirely at Van Hoesen's new home in Berlin. In an upcoming interview with Resident Advisor, he explains that he actually produced enough material for two full-lengths, but decided to use only half of it on Perceiver and save the rest for his live sets. Van Hoesen will release the album through his own label, Time To Express.
