Nicolas Jaar billed for Laneway Festival 2013

  • Nicolas Jaar will be amongst those playing the 2013 St Jerome's Laneway Festival tour around Australia. Now in its tenth year, Laneway Festival has grown from a small Melbourne alleyway gig into one of the country's most popular events, now taking place in seven cities including Singapore and Auckland. The upcoming tour begins in late January and will be highlighted by the Jaar's local debut. He will play on a stage curated by local label Future Classic, which will also feature budding talents including like L.A.'s Shlohmo, Sydneysider Flume and Norwegian duo Kings of Convenience, which includes Whitest Boy Alive frontman Erlend Øye. Also confirmed are avant-pop singer Julia Holter, downtempo producer Holy Other, Melbourne beatsmith Chet Faker and prolific hip-hop adventurer El-P. Indie music is represented by the likes of Yeasayer, Bat For Lashes, Japandroids and Alpine. After the Auckland and Singapore shows at the end of January, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne will kick off the Australian shows on February 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Brisbane will bring the party to Alexandria Street in Fortitude Valley, while Sydney will again head to CofA and Melbourne will make use of the Footscray Community Arts Centre. The Adelaide show on February 8th will be taking place at Fowler's Live, followed by the Perth event the next day at Perth Cultural Centre. Tickets to all shows go on sale from October 5th.
