- The former Metro Area member will play in San Francisco this weekend.
- Morgan Geist will headline As You Like It: Freaky Friday, this weekend at Beatbox in San Francisco. Geist made his name as "the bald half" of the widely-loved house and disco duo Metro Area. He's also the founder of Environ, the label that's released much of Metro Area's material as well as Geist's own solo tracks. Lately he's been turning heads with Storm Queen, a collaborative project with singer Damon C. Scott whose latest single Let's Make Mistakes was praised by RA's Philip Sherburne as "another instant hit." Geist will head to San Francisco next weekend to play Freaky Friday, AYLI's way of celebrating Halloween, which this year lands on the following Wednesday. The rest of the night's program will feature a collection of local talent: Safeword (playing live), Conor and The Bros. (AKA Mossmoss and Rich Korach). Showing up in costume will get you a discount at door.
