- The NYC-based experimental techno producer will release his debut album for free on October 29.
Gobby will release Above Ground on October 29.
The mysterious New York artist appeared earlier this year with the New Hat EP on oddball imprint UNO NYC. In a glowing review, RA's Jordan Rothlein described Gobby's lo-fi techno as "raw and bleak and admittedly pretty extreme." Above Ground continues that theme in earnest, alternating between distorted stompers and ambient interludes. The LP will be released for free on the UNO NYC website as part of their "Giveitaway" series. A five-track sampler from the record is streaming now over at Fader.
