- The UK artist today released a surprise free album via his Soundcloud page.
Four Tet released a new album today called 1081, which is available for free on Soundcloud.
The producer, real name Kieran Hebden, announced the album earlier today on his Twitter and Facebook pages. He then uploaded a single 38-minute selection to Soundcloud that features unreleased material made between 1997 and 2001. Hebden also indicated that he would release a vinyl version of the album on his Text label at a later date.
On first listen 1081 contains a mix of jazzy broken beats, neo-classical musings and more experimental fare. It marks Hebden's eighth studio release, following last year's Pink, although the productions date back to the time of his first album, Dialogue, which was released on Trevor Jackson's now dormant Output imprint in 1999.
Four Tet's 0181 was released today, January 15th, with a full vinyl release to follow on Text.
