  • Awakenings Festival has announced the lineup for its 2013 edition, which is set to run all day this June 29th at the Spaarnwoude outdoor area outside of Amsterdam. Not so much a traditional festival as a one-day event on a massive scale, Awakenings Festival spreads dozens of artists across eight spaces over 12 hours. Techno is, as ever, the event's primary focus and biggest draw. Perennial headliners and icons of the circuit like Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Ben Klock & Marcel Dettmann, Marco Carola, Jeff Mills and Loco Dice are all on board. But there's a good deal of variety in this year's lineup as well. More underground techno from the likes of Blawan, Peter Van Hoesen and Speedy J will feature, while selectors like Ben UFO, Nina Kraviz and DJ Koze will assure that techno isn't the only sound pumping through the speakers on the day. Organisers have brought in a number of live performers too, with Modeselektor and Gui Boratto among the highlights.
