  • Paul Woolford will release the Hardcore EP through Houndstooth in July, ahead of a full album slated for release later in the year. The UK veteran's Special Request project has mined the hinterland between house, jungle and techno, citing pirate radio as a primary point of inspiration. To date he's release four white-label 12-inches, with RA's Jordan Rothlein describing the first instalment as "techno, but infused with a restiveness rarely seen outside of Hessle Audio or Hemlock." It has now emerged that a Special Request album will come out in September through fabric's in-house label Houndstooth. Speaking to RA, Woolford said the LP "shows the wider perspective" of the project's sound—"but it's still as ruthless as the 12-inch white labels." He added: "The tracklist has been constantly altered over the last couple of years as I've been adding to the catalogue so there's a vast amount of material to draw from. I've never been as productive." The album will be preceded by the Hardcore 12-inch, which arrives backed by remixes from PAN affiliate Lee Gamble and recent Breaking Through subject Anthony Naples. You can check snippets of each track on the EP over on the Special Request SoundCloud page. Tracklist 01. Wall To Wall 02. Mindwash (Anthony Naples Eternal Mix) 03. Broken Dreams 04. Capsules (Lee Gamble Mix) Houndstooth will release the Hardcore EP in July 22nd, 2013.
