  • Bas Mooy is launching a new label this month called Mord. Over the past decade or so, Mooy has become well known in underground techno circles for his tough, uncompromising style, earning appearances on labels like Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver and Ali Wells' Perc Trax, among others. He also runs Audio Assault and its ARMS offshoot alongside fellow Dutch producer Jeroen Liebregts. Together, Audio Assault and ARMS have put out some 60 records—with Mooy and Liebregts joined by a globe-spanning collection of artists including Exium, Pfirter, Sawf and Go Hiyama, to name a few—and now it's time for another label venture. Mord's first release, Linea Recta, will come from Liebregts by way of his Radial alias (once a collaboration with Laurens van der Starre, Radial is now Liebregts' solo project), and unsurprisingly the EP is aimed squarely at the dance floor. It'll see release on vinyl and digital formats. For an idea of what to expect, head to Bas Mooy's SoundCloud page where you can listen to clips of Linea Recta.
