  • Pioneer has announced details of two new products: the DJM-900SRT and the DDJ-SP1. The DJM-900SRT is essentially a Serato-compatible version—the mixer eliminates the need for a outboard sound card—of Pioneer's flagship DJM-900nexus. It's also the first Serato DVS mixer that isn't manufactured by the company's longterm hardware partner Rane. As with the 900nexus, the 900SRT is a four-channel affair with, among other features, three different effects sections. Pioneer has also announced the DDJ-SP1, a compact sub-controller for Serato DJ that they're billing as a companion to the 900SRT. It features 16 pads for functions like looping and sampling, and a selection of effects buttons and knobs, which control Serato DJ's iZotope effects. The DJM-900SRT will be available in October with a suggested retail price of $2,799, while the DDJ-SP1 will also be available in October with a suggested retail price of $499.
