The Werkdiscs head will play the US and Mexico in the coming weeks.
Darren Cunningham has had a busy summer gigging around the world, but if the impending release of his long-promised fourth album Ghettoville is any indication, he's been hard at work in the studio as well. His Werkdiscs label has had a few prominent debuts this year too, including EPs from Moire and Helena Hauff.
These dates will be his first full-fledged tour of the continent, following a smattering of shows here and there over the years (plus a cancelled itinerary last fall). One of the canceled gigs was an appearance at Decibel festival, and he'll make up that by appearing in Seattle for our own RA showcase Thursday night at the Crocodile. The next evening, he'll play Complex in LA for a Werkdiscs showcase that also includes Evian Christ and Mass Prod.
On October 3rd and 4th he'll show up at two more festivals: VIA in Pittsburgh, and MUTEK.MX in Mexico City. Then, after a few weeks off, Cunningham will make one more trip over to play the Mountain Oasis Music Summit in Asheville, and then a Red Bull Music Academy event in Chicago alongside Dance Mania iconParris Mitchell.
Tickets for the LA party are available on RA.
Cunningham recently gave away a free track called "Metamorphosis," which you can grab here in exchange for your email address.
