  • Evil Music: Ode To Violence, Death And Demons, a series of events dedicated to music that romanticises violence, will take place at Berlin's Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin from October 24th through 27th. The programme for Evil Music (or Böse Musik: Oden an Gewalt, Tod und Teufe, as it's called in German) comprises lectures, film screenings, club nights and more. There will be a number of sound installations open to the public at HKW for the festival's four-day duration, with lectures covering topics like sonic warfare and the concept of "honourable society" due to take place. Hyperdub chief Kode9, who is a university lecturer and authored a book in 2010 called Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect And The Ecology Of Fear, is among the small roster of acts locked in for performances—he'll be spinning a DJ set on the 26th. Other highlights include a screening of United States Of Hoodoo and a panel focussing on the role of music in Germany's radical-right.
