  • A new event series called Hostile Ambient Takeover is set to begin in San Francisco next Saturday. Organizers have this to say about the series and its programming: "Techno, noise, experimental music, psychedelic rock, essentially music we like. No rules, blurring the lines between rave, performance, punk show, art happening and garden party." Hieroglyphic Being should fit the bill perfectly—the Chicago artist and Mathematics Recordings boss, who's also about to make his Australian debut, will headline with a live set. On the local side of the lineup are Hostile Ambient Takeover's residents, Tasho, (who'll play live under the moniker Its Own Infinite Flower) and Solar, as well as C.L.A.W.S., who'll be a regular guest DJ. This first event, in what will be at least a quarterly occurrence, will happen at Bay Area 51, an intimate venue known for hosting punk, noise and leftfield shows. Tickets are available here on RA.
