  • Steinberg has a new audio interface on the way called the UR44. Known for their trailblazing Cubase DAW, which this year arrived on iPad as Cubasis, the company has also released a handful of hardware controllers and audio interfaces. The UR44 is Steinberg's most feature-packed USB interface yet, with six inputs (four of which include mic preamps), four outputs (plus two main outs for monitors) and high-spec digital/analog conversion. Electronic producers will happily note the presence of MIDI I/O, and those recording with iPads will be able to work the UR44 into their workflows (provided they have a Camera Connection Kid, as is usually the case). The fully-metal box comes with a copy of Cubase AI and a suite of effects plug-ins. Steinberg will release the UR44 in January 2014 for a suggested retail price of 349 Euro.
