  • Bjørn Torske will release the third and final instalment in the Kok trilogy on December 9th. The trilogy began with 2010's Kokning—an album characterised by "off-the-beaten path charm" according to RA's review. That was followed by a remix EP called Oppkok in 2012, which featured reworks from DJ Harvey, Crimea X and Todd Terje. The third edition is an EP with five new tracks. As with the first two releases, it will come out on Smalltown Supersound, a label Torske has been closely affiliated with since 2006. Fans of the singular Norwegian producer will be pleased to know the Kok EP sees him indulging his experimental tendencies—a press release cites The Residents, Count Ossie, Moondog and This Heat as touchpoints. "Recorded around the same time as Kokning through a series of experimental studio sessions, the tracks are built on a more organic and acoustic foundation with less programmed patterns than Torske’s previous albums," the press release says. You can hear "Setter," the third track on the EP, right now on the label's SoundCloud page . Tracklist 01. Emmaus (prelude) 02. Assistenten 03. Setter 04. Totem Expose 05. Nestor Smalltown Supersound will release Kok on December 9th, 2013.
