  • Polar Inertia, playing live, will debut in the US at the next Industry of Machines event in Brooklyn on Saturday, February 8th. A mysterious production project from Paris, Polar Inertia first surfaced by way of a couple records on DEMENT3D, starting back in 2011. Little has been revealed about the mind(s) behind Polar Inertia, keeping the focus on the entity's dark, cerebral and cinematic approach to techno. This edition of Industry Machines will also host a three-artist showcase of JM De Frias' label Sequencias, which has put out nine records covering a broad range of techno and house since its launch in 2011. D'Marc Cantu, playing live, is atop the program, and Willie Burns (who also runs W.T. Records) and De Frias himself are slotted in for DJ sets. Industry of Machines will once again set up shop at Bossa Nova Civic Club—where the series has previously featured the likes of Vereker, Madteo and Galcher Lustwerk—and admission will be free before midnight. For an idea of what to expect from Polar Inertia, tune in to this recording for the Smoke Machine podcast from early last year, and head to Juno Plus for a closer look at Sequencias.
