The two DJs will go back-to-back at our party in Texas next month.
The aim of the Horizons series is to promote dance scenes that thrive away from established hubs like London, Berlin and New York. To date we've taken Horizons to places like Panama City, Lima, Mexico City, Taipei, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Vancouver, Shanghai, Nagoya, Aberdeen and Oslo.
This will be our second Horizons gig in Texas (this time last year we brought Optimo to El Paso). Though it's not known as an epicentre of electronic music, Dallas has an intriguing history: it was once home to the hedonistic Starck Club, a go-to destination for the likes of Grace Jones in the 1980s. These days promoters like Disco's Revenge carry the torch for the underground scene in Dallas. They have been throwing intimate parties around the city since 2009, with the likes of Disco Nihilist and Convextion.
We'll be teaming up with Disco's Revenge for the event, which features a back-to-back set from two of our favourite crate-digging DJs, Hunee and Antal. Formerly based in Berlin, Hunee calls LA home these days, and he has a record collection that spans soul, funk, disco, boogie and house. Antal is one of Europe's most respected music heads, presiding over the Rush Hour empire. They will be joined by L.I.E.S. affiliate TX Connect and Disco's Revenge resident and founder Mr. Daishiki Jones, a long-time staple of the local scene.
The party will go down at Circuit 12, a cosy 150-capacity gallery space that will be fitted with top-notch sound and lighting design. The action kicks off at 9 PM and runs through until 2 AM. To get in the mood, check out a recording of Hunee's set from last year's ADE closing party via the SoundCloud player below:
