  • The inaugural Hudson Project will take place in Saugerties, New York, from July 11th through 13th. The new festival is a joint venture from American festival promoter MCP Presents and SFX Entertainment, and like other MCP events (including Atlanta's Counterpoint) it has a cross-genre focus with a healthy amount of electronic music thrown in. Some of the bigger names include Moby (who will DJ), Flying Lotus, Gold Panda, Holy Ghost, Jon Hopkins, Bonobo and Nightmares On Wax. Lunice, TOKiMONSTA, Donky Pitch associate The Range, Kastle, Kelela and !!! are also booked, along with American festival staples like Excision, Big Gigantic and Bassnectar. Rapper Kendrick Lamar, Modest Mouse, Atmosphere, indie folk duo Matt & Kim and the Flatbush Zombies are a few of the non-electronic highlights. The Hudson Project happens at the Winston Farm in Saugerties, about 100 miles north of NYC. The setup includes four stages and an "interactive performance area," plus an art village and local food options from the Hudson Valley. Festivalgoers can choose to bring their own tents and camp onsite, or choose from a variety of pre-set accommodation options. There will be shuttles from urban centres surrounding Saugerties, including Baltimore, Philadelphia and Boston.
