  • ASC's next ambient effort will drop through Silent Season on June 1st. UK-born, San Diego-based producer James Clements is best known for his drum & bass work under the ASC name, but in the past five years he's worked to shed that association, releasing music at all sorts of tempos and finding particular inspiration in the ambient realm. Putting aside his spacey techno work as Mindspan, his first release on Silent Season, 2011's The Light That Burns Twice As Bright offered the first peek at his new beatless sound. He's since followed it up with a collaborative effort with Sam KDC and last year's Silent Season double album Time Heals All. He'll return to the Courtenay-based label for a third time with Truth Be Told, which was reportedly started almost immediately after the release of Time Heals All and is said to expand on that record's ideas. According to Clements himself, the album consists of "nine short stories based around love, depression, fantasy and my ever-ongoing fixation with science fiction." Check out snippets from the record below.
