- An Andrés remix rounds out the collaborative 12-inch on Ornaments Music.
The latest release on Ornaments Music is a collaborative 12-inch called Get By Me.
The title track is the brainchild of Davina, Niko Marks and Carlos Nilmmns. Marks and Nilmmns—the former a Detroit-based veteran known for his work on Delsin, Skylax and his own U2X Productions, the latter a France-based Scottish producer who also works under the name Solab with Graham Wilson—have been collaborating on music for some time now. According to Nilmmns, "Get By Me" began as an instrumental, but he had the idea to add vocals to it and thought Davina, an Underground Resistance-affiliated vocalist, might be a good look.
"After a few long distance phone calls and arranging her to record in a studio in New York, my dreams became a reality," he says. The cut comes in two versions, and they've brought in another Detroit stalwart in the form of Andrés for a remix. We've posted the EP below, which is streaming now via Ornaments' SoundCloud page.
