  • François K's Deep Space residency will bring Falty DL, Dawn of MIDI, RSD, Mad Professor and a Reconstrvct takeover to Cielo in September. The long-running weekly party has highlighted a broad selection of guests across house, techno and bass music over the years, all with an emphasis on the dubbier side of dance music. Selectors from the Brooklyn dubstep crew Reconstrvct will take the controls on Monday, September 1st to celebrate the birthday of resident DJ True Nature, who will be joined by fellow regulars Blind Prophet and Joe Nice. The following week will see sets from RSD, known for his reggae-influenced hip-hop, bass music and breakbeats, and Falty DL, whose newest LP, In The Wild, came out on Ninja Tune in August. On September 13th, François will spin alongside Dawn Of MIDI, an electro-acoustic trio who perform jazz-inflected, minimalist grooves using an upright bass, a grand piano and a drum kit. They will play a rendition of their 2013 LP Dysnomia for the first time ever in a dance club setting. The residency will then host an exclusive NYC appearance from storied reggae and dub producer Mad Professor, for the opening night of the Dub Champions Festival on September 22nd. Details of the September 29th event have yet to be announced.
