  • Welsh festival Freerotation will launch its own record label with an EP from The High-on-Wye Quintet, AKA Move D, Juju & Jordash, Soulphiction and Steevio. All five artists have close ties to the annual festival: Steevio is one of the founders, while the other four are all residents. Together they've formed The High-on-Wye Quintet, and their first release, The Hafod Jams Pt. 1, is set to land at the end of this month. The three ambient techno tracks have been allowed some time to gestate: according to the label's SoundCloud page, they were recorded "in a mega hardware jam session, recorded live in Steevio's Hafod studio after Freerotation 2012." Those behind the vinyl-focused label say its purpose "is to provide a platform for Freerotation artists to experiment and collaborate, and to give a voice to upcoming and under exposed artists." Listen to unmastered versions of all three tracks below.
