- The duo's next LP will arrive via Delusions Of Grandeur
in November.
Session Victim's second album, See You When You Get There, will come out through Delusions Of Grandeur on November 10th.
Hauke Freer and Matthias Reiling have been working as Session Victim since 2008. Their debut album under that name, The Haunted House Of House, came out in 2012. The album was recorded between their Hamburg studio and Room G studio in San Francisco. It's a notable step up from their debut LP, which was crafted in their bedrooms. While in SF, Freer and Reiling dug for records to sample in well-known shop Amoeba Music.
"Having access to a fully-equipped studio was like hitting the jackpot," says Freer. "It was a bit intimidating too. We thought, 'If we cannot write the LP here, it's not in us.' A few days later we forgot about that [pressure] and were immersed in jamming and exploring. We had access to all sorts of '80s drum machines, synths and Fender Rhodes that added another layer to the whole thing."
