  • UK-born, Berlin-based techno producer Paula Temple will formally launch her own label, Noise Manifesto, in 2015. This actually isn't the first we've heard from Noise Manifesto. Before Temple re-surfaced with two solo records for R&S over the past 18 months, she teamed with Stef Bou under the name Spank Protest for a digital EP on the label in 2012 called Anti-Orgasm (the title track being a rework of a Sonic Youth song). A press release promises Noise Manifesto's first official transmission will come in March of next year, but for now Temple has offered up an "end of year present" in the form of "Gegen," which is free to stream and download on her SoundCloud page for the next two weeks. Temple's productions come with a confrontational message, and this one, which she's been using in her sets over the past year, is no different: "gegen" is a German term that translates to "against," and it's the name of a queer party at Berlin's Kit Kat Club, which was the inspiration behind the track title. Details for Noise Manifesto's first official release have yet to be announced, but a mission statement has this to say about its approach: "We prioritise bodies and identities who have been kept invisible despite outstanding talent and achievements ... Every release and event through Noise Manifesto will feature at least 50% female and queer artists." Artwork credit: Nina Reisinger
