  • Nuits Sonores has announced the daytime programme of its 13th edition, which runs May 13th through 17th. In keeping with the 2014 edition, Nuits Sonores will take over Lyon's Confluence neighbourhood for five days of music and cultural events. Among the festival's various venues, former sugar factory La Sucrière will host the three stages of the festival's daytime programme. This year's innovation sees organisers handing over curation duties for three days of daytime programming to three artists: Ben Klock, John Talabot and Jamie xx. On Thursday, May 14th, Klock will showcase his wide-ranging influences by inviting artists like ambient producer Oubys, jungle icon Goldie, Dutch techno producer Jeroen Search, Shackleton and Livity Sound's Peverelist and Kowton. Klock himself will play right after Links Ensemble's interpretation of Steve Reich's Music For 18 Musicians. Day Two—Friday, May 15th—will be Talabot's day. The Hivern Discs man will welcome Joy Orbison, Genius of Time and Barnt onto his stage. The two other stages will host live acts from Syracuse, Ninos Du Brasil, Andre Bratten and DJ sets from the likes of Lena Willikens and Awesome Tapes From Africa. On Saturday the 16th, NTS's Jon Rust and Hivern Discs' Mattis With will spin back-to-back before curator Jamie xx takes to the decks, while on the live stage '70s band The Pyramids will perform, as will Real Lies. The rest of Nuits Sonores' programme will be announced on February 11th.
