Oneohtrix Point Never will drop a new Commissions EP on Record Store Day.
The first in the series was released last RSD, and like that one, Commissions II comprises music that was, well, commissioned from Daniel Lopatin by various organizations. This one features the two-part "Bullet Hell Abstraction" originally made for Red Bull Music Academy and inspired by the soundtracks and "visual aesthetic" of Japanese video games. The flipside, made for the Abandon Normal Devices festival, offers an excerpt from a live performance of a re-scoring of Koji Morimoto's anime film Magnetic Rose.
