  • Native Instruments have a new Traktor controller in the works. Hard news on the device hasn't been released in any official capacity, but during a live stream from WMC in Miami yesterday with Uner, MK and Dubfire, the setup included a pair of the new controllers. DJ Tech Tools is saying it's called the Kontrol D2, and Create Digital Music has apparently come into some of the details. Like NI's Kontrol S8, the new controller features a full-color display that should eliminate the need for DJs to keep checking their laptop. There are also four faders for control over a Remix Deck; eight pads for launching samples, cue points and loops; and an LED-enhanced touch pad. The biggest difference between this new controller and the much-larger S8 seems to be that there's no mixer section or internal sound card—it's like one deck from the S8, though CDM says you can control multiple decks from one of these controllers. To get your own look, you can check out video from the NI stream below.
