  • The second edition of indie band Hundred Waters' FORM Arcosanti festival is set to take place in Arcosanti, Arizona over the weekend of May 22nd. The festival's lineup skews experimental, with RVNG Intl artist Holly Herndon set to perform along with Sacred Bones' Pharmakon and LA modular explorer M. Geddes Gengras. Gengras, who also has a techno project called Personable and collaborates with Sun Araw, will likely take full advantage of the Moog Sound Lab Performance Series, in which an array of archival and prototype models from the synthesizer manufacturer are carted in for use by artists. FORM Arcosanti includes a number of more traditional dance acts as well, including Jacques Greene, TOKiMONSTA and Machinedrum, who will perform Vapor City live. A number of spacious, ambient-leaning acts have been brought in to fill the Arcostanti's towering outdoor amphitheatre. Julianna Barwick will stage her layered vocal performance and the minimalist chamber septet Bing & Ruth is also scheduled to perform. The festival is free, but requires potential attendees to apply with attendance limited to 750. Hundred Waters' based the FORM experience over previous trips to the experimental desert community as well as outdoor parties they threw in their home state Florida. Check out a mini-documentary covering the 2014 event below.
